March Meeting

 At the March meeting Angela Oswald introduced us to Boro, the Japanese darning technique.  Angela gave a short talk about the fascinating history of the technique and illustrated her talk with information and photographs of her visit to Japan. She also spoke of the types of fabric used and the hierarchical system in Japan. Angela is a good speaker and has great knowledge of her subject. Here are some examples of her work, inspired by her travels and her research.

Anne has completed the Mini Scroll  from Linda's November workshop and it looks great.

  Here is Anne's Complementary Colours piece.  Excellent interpretation of chain stitch.

Sharon has been working on some beautiful goldwork. Marvellous detail.

Embroiderers Guild Online Event

On 24 February the Embroiderers Guild is hosting a Susan Week interview with Mandy Pattullo and Claire Wellesley-Smith , Each of these textile artists work with reclaimed fabrics and both of them are published authors.

Exhibition in Uppermill

 The Weavers Factory, based in the former home of textile designer Joan Charnley, holds regular exhibitions.  The next is entitled Bibelot and features the collages of Sarah V Battle.  The exhibition runs from 19 February to 3 April. Click on the dogs for more information

February Meeting 2022

The February meeting saw sales tables in the morning followed by explorations of Bondaweb in the afternoon. Some interesting ideas were explored.
